Well, I haven't blogged in a LONG time and I know there's alot that's happening, but I've been so scatterbrained lately I'm not sure I'll remember it all. But I'll see what I can do! It might be a hodge podge of things!
My sweet babies are doing great! Elijah is talking nonstop now, which I NEVER get tired of! He's always asking questions and it's so interesting what his little mind is thinking about. We waited so long for him to start talking, that I'm just enjoying every minute of it. I never knew that young children could learn so quickly, but he has new words every day. And alot of the time, I have no idea where he's learning it from. And he can reason with me too. For example, the other day I was in the shower and he likes to hand me my towel. Well I asked him for it, and he proceeded to tell me that it was dirty and I needed a new towel. haha. I thought it was funny!
Hannah is doing great too! She's even saying a few words of her own, so I know she's going to be fine. She's always been ahead of the game, and I think it's because she doesn't want to be left behind!
Josh sold his truck yesterday, so we are down to one vehicle again. This seems to be the norm for us! But hopefully he'll find something soon!
We actually went out on a date last night! It was my birthday, and man have I been wanting a good steak lately!! So he took me out to Logan's Steakhouse. It was really good! And nice to be out on our own.
Now, I'm just waiting on my husband to call. He's working in town, and I'll go pick him up when he's done. Then we are off to some friends' house for some grilled chicken wings!! Yummy!

Better night!
Well, last night before we put Elijah to bed we decided to pray over his sleeping. So, while he was laying in bed we just prayed that any fear or anxiety he was feeling would be gone, and he would only feel peace all night. The whole time we were praying, he was laughing and squirming around, and he talked in bed for another hour and a half. But he slept all night!! Thank you Jesus! He woke up around 7, but that's fine! I can handle that! I think my body was still used to getting up with him, though, because every few hours I found myself waking up and listening for any sounds. Hopefully, the sleeping all night will continue!
Anyways, not too much else going on with us. Let's see... For Valentine's day, Abbie came over Saturday night and watched the babies for us. We went out to eat, and then went and saw Valentine's day. It was so nice to get out alone and have a date night. I don't think we've had one of those in months! We could actually talk to one another without having to divide our attention on the babies. It's strange though. Because we get out alone together, and then most of what we talk about involves the babies. So they are obviously always on our minds. :)
Josh is taking some classes to be a volunteer firefighter. The classes are Tuesday nights and all day Saturday. He seems to be enjoying it. His hopes are to eventually be employed with a station. That way we can have a steady income, and he can do his handyman work on the side. We've really felt God leading us in this, so be praying that it works out. And for Josh's safety.
Other than that, the babies and I have just been hanging out at the house as usual. They are growing up so fast. So independent. Elijah's talking really good now, and Hannah is even saying a few words of her own. Next step for us: Potty training! We're gonna wait a few more months.
Anyways, that's about it. I'll write more when there's more to say!

Issues.
Sleep issues. The worst kind.
Well, I used to brag about how well my oldest child slept. He's always slept great at night, and took long naps. Well, lately, that has not been the case at all. I don't mind the naptimes that much. But at night, he should be sleeping!!!
Here's the deal: He fights naptime. Doesn't sleep good for naps. Then we put him down around 8:30-9 and he fights that. He finally goes to sleep, and then wakes up screaming "mama" at random times in the middle of the night. I go to check on him, and make him lay down. Then he wakes up super early in the morning.
This has been going on for like 2 weeks now. And I can't just ignore him altogether, because Hannah sleeps in the room with him.
I have absolutely NO idea what to do! When I go to check on him, he's usually just sitting up in bed, and I lay him down and he goes right back to sleep. So he doesn't stay up or anything, but then when I get back in bed, it takes me like 2 hours to get back to sleep. So I have felt exhausted and drained. And that's never fun.
Anyone have any suggestions???

It's a new dawn. It's a new day.
It's a new life for me! And I'm feeling good!
I really like that song, but it's not what I was going to write about!
Today is the first of February, and a good time to start a workout/diet plan! I was doing really good before the holidays; I had actually lost about 15 pounds! But Thanksgiving and Christmas did bad things...
So I ordered a new workout video. It's called "30 Day Shred" with Jillian from Biggest Loser. I started it today, and I'm already feeling the burn. It's amazing what being lazy for 2 months can do to your body! She's pretty intense though, but not overly annoying. So hopefully in 30 days I'll have lost all that weight again and be back in shape! I feel really excited about it! So here's hoping!

Busy Week!
This week has been so busy, that I've sat down to write this blog like 3 times to no avail! I've just had the title, but I had a little extra time now..so I figured I'd write!
Even though the week felt extremely busy to me, perspectively it really wasn't. Just ALOT of driving! Way more than I'm used to! It all started when Josh sold his truck last week. He works out of his truck, so really his truck is the money maker. So we needed a truck as quickly as possible! Well, he found one last Thursday night in Atlanta for a really good price, so he made all the arrangements for us to go look at it. So we left the babies with his parents on Friday, and left about lunch time. We got to Atlanta, and looked at the truck. It wasn't in GREAT condition, but he was asking so little..we were really considering it. We even discussed trying to get him go lower for all the problems. Then the guy just took off like $500 more dollars without us asking, so it felt like a confirmation. So, we bought it right there! Then we stayed with our friends, Luke and Kayla, who graciously let us stay at their house last minute! And it was alot of fun! We just ate, talked, and hung out. And stayed up way too late! :) But it was good to see them; it had been a while! (Thank you again Kayla for letting us stay with ya'll!)
Well, the next day I had to drive home all alone. And the worst part was that it was raining, HARD!, the whole way! It took like 4 1/2 hours. I was exhausted that night!
Then Monday morning I woke up to find that one of my best friend's dad had died the night before. Another friend, Alaina, and I decided that we should go to the funeral. So we made plans to drive back up to Atlanta the following day. So we left on Tuesday to go to the visitation, stayed the night, and then went to the funeral on Wednesday. The family seemed to be doing relatively well considering. He had been sick for a little while, so I think that gave them time to mourn through the whole process. And despite the circumstances, I had a good time on the trip. I got to hang out with Alaina and it was alot of fun! I haven't spent that much time with her since college! (Alaina, thanks for the company!) I also got to see some friends/cousins, Erin and Wesley, and I talked to them for a while! (Erin, you are a very cute pregnant lady!)
So two trips to Atlanta in one week is like 100 times more driving than I am used to! And I'll be happy to not see it for a LONG time! I like my little country town!
Last night we hung out with some more friends, Gene and Steph, and just ate and talked! That seems to be what we are good at! :) And today we are just relaxing! I'll take it!

The end of breastfeeding..well for now!
I have officially stopped breastfeeding Hannah. I wasn't really planning it, but it just kinda happened. She was wanting it less and less, and then over the busy holidays, our schedules were all out of sync. We were in different environments, and she was so preoccupied she basically stopped on her own.
It's weird now though. I mean, I don't feel like I have a baby anymore. She's so independent; she barely spends any time with me now. I miss the times of snuggling she would give me when I would nurse. I was only nursing her in the mornings, but now I wake up and it's the first thing I think about. I guess I just need some adjustment time.
Now that I look back on this last year, I can honestly say I enjoyed nursing. Don't get me wrong, though, there were definitely times I thought about quitting. Like the times she would bite, or the time she went on a 3 day nursing strike. Or the times I was being selfish and just wanted to go on a date with my husband alone (she never would touch bottles)! But I wanted to at least make it to a year, so I'm pretty proud of myself. Nursing was in no way easy. It definitely takes a lot of work and sacrifice. But in the end, I'm so very glad I stuck with it!

Gosh, it's been awhile...
Well, I blogged last about our trip to Nashville. And LOTS of things have happened since then. Yet it all flew by so quickly! I love Christmas time, but it goes by way too quickly! We were pretty busy the month of December. One week, we actually had something to do every single night! That's very unusual for us. I'm a homebody for sure, so it put me out of my comfort zone a little.
On Christmas Eve, we always go to Josh's parents house. We usually have the traditon of eating chili, which is always good. But this year they decided to change it up and have a fancy meal. So, we had ribs, asparagus wrapped in bacon, twice baked potatoes, broccoli casserole, and the best stuffed mushrooms I've ever had! It was absolutely delicious! Then we all unwrapped gifts from their Grandma and she unwrapped ours. Then we always watch a movie, which was "Julie and Julia" this year. I'm still undecided about the movie. It was really long for one thing, and the ending was not what I wanted. Oh well.
Then we spend the night at his parents, and wake up and do Christmas morning. Last year, I think we woke up at like 6 which is way too early! But this year, I guess all the kids are teenagers so they actually slept until 8, which is much more reasonable! So we woke up and did Christmas, and it was really good. I got a good hair straightener, and a pedicure! I'm excited! We got Elijah a guitar and he LOVED it! He never puts it down. I loved watching him open it, and then instantly light up and say "Guiiitaarr!" It was priceless! Hannah could have really cared less about her presents. I think she played the most with a wrapping bow she found!
After we do Christmas at Josh's parents', we eat breakfast and then we get ready to go to my parents. This year we decided to be there at lunch, and then do Christmas after lunch. In previous years, we are busting our tails to get there by 10. Which doesn't help the Christmas spirit in my opinion! So we took it easy this year, and made it there at 12:30. We had another delicious meal of supreme casseroles! And then we did Christmas presents. Josh and I solely asked for a flat panel TV, and we got it! It's soo nice! So we then hung out with my family the rest of the day. I think it was a pretty good Christmas overall! We had some good family time with both sides!
For New Year's, we went down to the River House with Josh's family. It's always fun to go! Even if I didn't even step outside the whole time, tooo cold!! The only shortcoming is that our little family sleeps in the same room, which is not inducive to sleeping! The babies make noises constantly during the night, and I'm a very light sleeper! But we did play alot of games, which is always fun!
Josh's parents also do a little prayer session in which we all ask God to reveal to us what He wants from us in the coming year. We each pray over different areas of our lives: Work/school, family, church, finances, and personal. It's always really good! And we got alot of goals for this next year. I'm really excited to see what God has planned!
